More then 100 years ago, the english mountaineer Albert f. Mummery failed to climb Nanga Parbat, 35 years Later a series of German expedition began in

which 10 climberts and 15 sherpas lost their lives, earing Nanga parbat the name "Mountain of German destiny" or "Killer Mountain" in 1953 the Austrian Hermann Buhl was the first to reach the summit, as a member of German expedition led by karl Maria Herligkoffer.

The name "Killer Mountain is also based on the dangerous nature of Nanga Parbat, which includes the permenant risk of rock fall, climbing Nanga Parbat is
